Banff & Jasper NPs - September 2018

In the last half of September I spent 10 days or so in Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta, Canada. Two friends from San Francisco and I were very lucky with the timing of our visit. Not too long before we arrived the air had been heavy with smoke from the several extensive fires that had been raging for several weeks (months?) in the forests of western US and Canada. We arrived along with the first snows of the autumn to enjoy the, at times, magical light ... made for landscape photography. Most of these photographs were taken either from relatively short 1 to 2 mile hikes from the roads or from roadside laybys. So no mountaineering was involved. The photographs are not presented chronologically. For now I've numbered all of the photographs - I'll try to give them more meaningful titles in due course.
